Mihye Kang is a documentary filmmaker and a painter. She graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
As a first generation immigrant, her works revolve around labor and Asian identity in the United States. She is also interested in traces of imperialism in the neoliberal society as a form of division and alienation.
Kang was one of the videographers from the international archival project, A Labor in a Single Shot, co-directed by Antje Ehmann and Harun Farocki.
She is currently editing her first documentary about her art school's labor union.
